What kind of book would a dog write? In my new book,
Autobiography of a Poodle, I try to answer that question.
The book is an uplifting story about a standard poodle named Zephyr, and
chronicles his life from puppyhood on. All of the events described in the book
actually happened to Zephyr, an eternal optimist.
He had to go through dog training classes
He went to a dog show
He had to adjust to living with a cat
He had to stay in a crate while his people slept
He ran off-leash some of the time
He had dog friends
He encountered a dog who bit him
He ate some poisoned food
He had to learn to live with another standard
poodle who came into his life
Along the way, Zephyr shares his philosophy of life and how
dogs might see the world.
There are three possibilities for how this book was written:
Zephyr wrote the book at night, typing on the
computer while everyone was asleep
Zephyr dictated the book to me, and I faithfully
copied down every word
I wrote the book based on events in Zephyr’s
life and my knowledge of dog behavior
What you choose to believe is up to you.
